Oh, yeah, absolutely. You can pay a service to do this for you or you can do it yourself. It's very time consuming, and the paid services offer no guarantee that your seed will take.

Now what does that mean? Seeding is going to all the internet search engines and portals, and putting your URL on them. Some of the smaller ones accept your request right away, some of the larger ones don't, you have to request several times before it takes. On large engines and portals like yahoo, the most popular sites, divided by topic, go to the top of the page when someone does a search, though there can be thousands of better-suited sites for the person searching. The key is finding a unique way to narrow the subject you want people to see your site on the first page. If you list under Anime or Forum, you will be buried, for example.

Mike knows what metatags are, I'm sure (if you don't already know yourself). Some engines and portals allow them, some don't. Have him help you with that.

You can seed any engine or portal by going to the bottom of the home page, there is usually a submission link or at least a site map that can lead you to the submission link. It doesn't cost anything to request your URL to be added. It's just tedious. A lot of blanks to fill.

Now you have something to keep you more busy than you really wanted to be next week.

ive not been around much lately because i had a new motherboard and hard-drive so my computers not working like it used to and i gotta sort all my settings and transfer all my stuff from my old hard-drive to the new one

I've had to do that many times myself. I have things stored on disks that they don't make slots for anymore, but I don't want to lose them, like I'll ever be able to recover them.

I used to have a sight with thousands of them, I'll look for it again, but I'm not positive what I did with it.

If you got to the engine or portal homepage like yahoo.com or google.com or any of the smaller engines used where you are, searchhippo.com used to be one, Jeeves.com etc, down at the bottom there should be a link for submissions. Just fill in the blanks with your URL, metatags and whatnot and pray. The larger companies don't always accept the first try. Go into the help section of the program for this forum too, it may have a link with info on what to do through them.

This one is through google, right? So the link may already be out there, but until people begin to look for it, it will stay on back pages. The more hits a link gets, the further toward the first page it goes.
