as you can see i don't do colour i always seem to wreck my drawings when i attempt to colour them i rarely shade them for the same reason

With the Cloud pic, you've got shading around the edges, but not in the center, so his face looks kind of flat. If you add some shading to delineate a cheekbone, it may help. Ditto with his hair, though a few lines to show the path of the hair may do.

Melinda, they are wonderful, you have a talent I envy. Never could draw, but could create i.e pottery/sculpture. Not sure were my kids get their talent from!

it was my attempt at shading as i said I'm useless at it lol i normally leave my drawings as just lines

i think anybody can draw its all about practise but this takes alot of time which is something that most adults just don't have

no matter how much i practice i just cant seem to get it lol

i had alot of time stuck in the house as a child so had plenty of time to waste on drawing I've loved drawing manga since i was about 11

I'm useless at pottery and stuff like that my sister is really good though she made me my statues for my altar and shes made me dragon placks and my offering bowls

I'll dig out the digital camera and post some picks of the stuff shes made me. Kate's 18 in November

yeah we've only seen one pic so far!

mine are scribbles compared to mr nices work!

i have quite shaky hands so pretty much all i can do is quick sketches i couldn't do anything involving precision

He has a computer setup, I don't remember what you call it, but he draws on a board and the board digitizes it, or something.

He's a brilliant artist, but he'd never say that about himself. blob 1

i use a wacom tablet to draw, which is a bit weird because you draw on the tablet, but look at the monitor, which is a bit unsettling sometimes. i'd like to get a cintiq, which allows you to draw directly on the monitor screen, but those are like $3000 US, so i can't do that right now.

i don't think i draw all that well, but i am getting better. i like cartooning, since it's less restrictive.

and melinda, it's best to do art in shaky, non-precise strokes. keeps you from being too much of a perfectionist.

and snort is arty. who made me the a keyfob for my motorcycle keys? huh?

if you notice most of my pencil strokes are quick movements they have to be that way that's why i wont ever be more than a doodler

i think your art is much better than mine there's a precision to it that i will never achieve Very Happy

i have a tablet too but it doesn't work well with my drawing style

doodles always look better in pencil lol

and snort you made me my bracelet and necklace remember

this is the art section and drawing isnt the only art form remember Smile

That's true, both of you have some of my beadwork. I've been thinking of taking that up again, I need to make a bigger loom so I can do some long, wide pieces. That's one of those, sit for hours at a time kind of things that I'm still not quite ready to do yet.

I'm freeing my miiiiiind....
